Currently in Phase II Clinical Development
Resistant Hypertension, Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF), and Diabetic Nephropathy
Dysregulation of the nitric oxide-soluble guanylate cyclase-cyclical guanosine monophosphate (NO-sGC-cGMP) signaling pathway is believed to be linked to multiple vascular and fibrotic diseases, such as resistant hypertension, HFpEF, and diabetic nephropathy.
IW-1973 is an investigational soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator from Ironwood’s diverse library of sGC stimulators, which are being investigated for their potential effects on vascular and fibrotic diseases. The compound has been shown in nonclinical studies to modulate the NO-sGC-cGMP signaling pathway and is currently being evaluated in two Phase IIa studies in diabetic patients with hypertension. IW-1973 is wholly-owned by Ironwood Pharmaceuticals.
IW-1973 is being evaluated to determine its potential effects on vascular and fibrotic diseases.
